How about a custom drawing of your child or special someone that you can cherish for many years to come? I work many hours to create an accurate likeness to make your portrait even more special than a photograph. My artwork is created from reference photos so clear images are a must. My goal is that personality and physical likeness will shine through in the finished piece.

Portraits are available in full color pastel on special grade fine textured paper or black and white pencil sketches. Head/shoulders drawings can be ordered on a neutral background. Additional figures, full body and/or a specific detailed background always available but will alter the price.

Pastel Drawings

Classic and very detailed. I love the way this medium allows me to really go into detail. I use a high-quality textured paper that allows the pastel chalk pigments to be layered and blended into the paper. These must be framed under glass as soon as you receive them in order to protect the surface. Once framed, they will last a lifetime.

Pencil Drawings

Black and white pencil drawings. This is an affordable way to have a smaller scale remembrance of your special someone.

Tips for Photographing Person

  • I use your photograph to draw exactly what I see in the photo.

  • Choose a photo that is clear, close and in color.

  • Choose a facial expression you like. It is not possible to change facial expressions or photo angles.

  • The subject should take up most of the photo (image area) so getting closer to the subject is better.

  • If possible just use your phone and take many photos in natural light or near a window.

Step 1

  • Choose a pastel or pencil drawing

  • Choose a size

  • Photo. The higher the resolution the better detail I can see! Choose a photo that is clear, close and in color.

  • Email me with the above information and any special requests.

Step 2

  • From your photos, we will work together to determine the best reference photo and cropping of your image.

  • Next, I will send you a price quote with details and info on how to pay. I require a 50% deposit to secure your order with remaining balance due once the art is complete.

  • Then, I will get started on your portrait! My lead time can be 3 weeks to 4-5 months depending on my work load.

  • The final payment is due after you approve the sneak peek of your art. I will email before shipping. Shipping costs are extra.

Refunds are not available on custom portraits, however, I will work with you until you are 100% satisfied with your portrait!
